First, I want to thank RSL for the fast delivery. I live in Honolulu and received the subwoofer within three days. Shipping and handling were excellent.
I connected the Speedwoofer 10E to a 2.1 setup with KEF Q150 bookshelf speakers and a Denon AVR-X1700H. After running Audyssey MultEQ for room correction, I tested the system with movies, music, and occasional gaming.
For music, I listen to a lot of electronica and ambient — artists like Massive Attack, Bicep, and others. The sub handles the low end beautifully. The bass is tight, deep, and never muddy, which really enhances layered production and subtle details in this genre.
That said, the overall experience with movies stands out even more. I tested it with Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival, and after some fine-tuning, the results were excellent. Dialogue is clear, bass sweeps are smooth and immersive, and the low-frequency effects hit with weight and precision, all without overwhelming the room or disturbing the neighbors.
I also have another setup at a different location using a 12-inch Martin & Kessler sub with floor-standing Focal speakers (from before the buyout). The Speedwoofer 10E holds up impressively well in comparison, especially at this price point.
If you're looking for a sub that delivers on both music and movies, with serious value and room-friendly power, this is an easy recommendation. The Speedwoofer 10E punches far above its weight.
