i recently purchased the rsl speedwoofer 10s and thought it was was excellent, until purchasing this and realizing only they can upstaged by themselves. this speedwoofer 12 is the perfect compliment to my other subwoofer and completely enhances and satisfies my expectations while filling the void left by my other sub, a 15. this gives me the best of both worlds and has more mid-bass presence. it's located in my second sub location and totally dominates and outperforms previous occupants (monolith 15, paradigm defiance x12, definitive super cube 1) and is easily unmatched. this is the most impressive subwoofer, overall and rsl is officially my first stop when i need another and my first suggestion to everyone in the market for a new one.

Upgraded from 10s mkII to this beast! 10s is slated for the man cave/workshop. I am very thankful for all the help and time that Roger Sound Labs have put into my system. Thanx a ton!!!!

I purchased this 12s to replace 4 cheaper 10in woofers. I hooked it up and was immediately shocked how this subwoofer played low for home theater. My 4 10in subs had lots of slam at 30hz to 80 hz but they were week below 30hz. I set up the 12s on its own in the one place I could fit it. I calibrated the Denon x4800h and let it rip. It sounded good and plays super low but I really was missing the slam of the upper base. I am not saying that this sub is lacking in 30hz to 80hz bass at all but it doesn't have the impact of 4 10in woofers and it is not fare to compare 4 10in subwoofers to one 12 based on surface area alone. I then decided to set up my room with the four 10in subwoofers and the 12s. I crossed the subwoofers over independently and calibrated the system. Oh my god I didn't realize how great this was going to sound... Long story short I now have all the slam I wanted and all the low end I wanted. These five subwoofers paired with Arendal 1723 Monitor S is absolutely breathtaking to me. The sound stage is huge in this small 18ft x 11ft room. I typically do not like vented / ported subwoofers but this sub plays tight without any bloat. If dialed in right this subwoofer can sound great with both music and home theater but it is definitely stronger as a home theater sub because of its solid lower 30hz to 16hz output. If you can pull this sub out from the wall about 6 inches or more. I originally set it up about 2in off the wall because ecstatically it looked the best there. It didn't sound boomy or bloated but it just didn't sound natural with music. After pulling it out 6in it sounded much more natural. I only need this turned up halfway to achieve the desired base level in my room. The remote control is a pleasure to use and it is so nice if you use your room for music as well as home theater. You can dial in the bass for each movie or music track without messing with the receiver settings. I am supper happy with this subwoofer. I just ordered two of the 10E subwoofers and I will order two more "if needed" in the future so that I can retire the cheaper subwoofers to other duties in the house. Just a note. I cheaped out when purchasing this and I opted out of the shipping insurance. When it arrived there were two large holes in the box. I was lucky and it wasn't damaged because it was packaged well. Lets just say that when I ordered the 10E's I purchased the shipping insurance "just in case". Shout out to Joe in customer service who spent sometime with me on the phone before my purchase. I didn't follow his advice to by two 10s MKII's but I am sure they would have fit better in my room and sounded great as well. I feel solid with this purchase mostly because RSL seems to be a company that will offer solutions in or out of warranty and they are obviously advocating for great sound at lower prices. I can, did and will support that.

As a preface, I bought this sub for music and music alone - the kind of music that no mere 10” can handle. And it is without a doubt the lowest, loudest, cleanest and tightest sub I have ever heard. I’m a huge basshead who has owned many subs over the years, most quite a bit larger than the 12s, and was honestly skeptical it would really deliver the chest kick and pants-shaking lows I love. I was instantly humbled the moment I began testing this absolute beast.

The 12s can effortlessly pressurize the room on deep bass drop songs like SP:MC - “Taiko Dub” that usually reveal the lower limits of smaller subs, and has no problem keeping up with the huge blastbeats, tectonic 808 drops and tremolo-picking droptuned bass of tracks like Organectomy - “Existential Disconnect” that turn most other woofers into mush. Classic bass test tracks like Three 6 Mafia’s “Late Nite Tip” play back absolutely phenomenally, with the lowest notes filling the room completely and the rapid upward crawls sounding smooth as could be.

I am hearing low end detail in many of my favorite songs that I’ve never experienced before. So much texture and clarity, and never once has it sounded boomy or laggy. In fact I would say this bass is deceptively smooth and clean - I had no idea I was pushing it hard enough to rattle my entire house until I stepped outside my garage and noticed my gutters and AC unit resonating!

Overall the first descriptor I would use for this sub is simply addictive. Seamless blending, thunderous weight and snappy transients make for a hypnotic listening experience that sucks me in for hours at a time as I pass track after track to it. Honestly I am amazed by what RSL has packed into this box. I see lots of talk about how large it is, but the 12s is punching far above its weight class. An absolute steal at this price as well considering you couldn’t even DIY a similarly performing sub for anywhere close.
