I had trouble getting my subwoofer to work at all even though it powered on. I spent time on the phne with customer service attempting varouis fixes. I have a 1970s Marantz system and somehow after unplugging and plugging cords into variouus ports the speaker started wrorking. It was great working the customer support. The speaker has added a whole new dimension to my music.

I had purchased a 12S to replace a pair of old Polk PSW505(s). I was quite impressed with the room filling sound this produces. With the finely adjustable phase control, i had no problems getting the 12S to blend in nicely. Many props to the sound and build quality!

I have had this subwoofer for about a month and it is great. No complaints from me. I did experience some shipping damage but working with Joe in customer service was a pleasure. The damage was cosmetic and did not affect performance at all.

If you can’t deal with the larger cabinet and are in this budget range. You can’t get any better sound and quality.

I have had 4 subs in the last 25 years, all name brand, mainly for home theater but also for my dedicated music system. I thought they were mainly to bring out drama in movies (the thump of an explosion or other loud sounds) and accentuate the bass drum in music. I always kept them so low you could barely hear them so they didn’t dominate the music. The Speedwoofer is something entirely different. Once set up and adjusted, It enhances the music, it doesn’t stand out and call attention to itself. The double bass in jazz now sounds like a real double bass, with all notes, including the lowest, clearly heard. Ditto for drums, you hear the full set. It also greatly enhances classical music, again by bringing in the lowest notes and harmonics in a way that sounds natural. I am very impressed, I never knew that a sub was so important to fully enjoying music.
