Excellent Product & Company

Been a "low-end audiophile" (best sound for the $) since my college days in the late 70's early 80's. Current room is an open floor plan living room/dining/kitchen 27' x 22' 8' ceiling, listening area in 1/2 the room. For the past 15 yrs I've had a 5.1 system: 15" Velodyne DEQ-15R sub with Boston Acoustics CS26B F/R and CS225B center, driven by an Onkyo TX-NR676. The Velo sub panel amp went out for the 2nd time, so it was time for a change.

I used to have tower speakers. ~30 yrs ago when subs started to proliferate, I went to bookshelf size speakers and a sub. I'll never go back to towers. Subs provide a huge step in tuning a system (unless you want to spend Big $'s on a bi-amped system).

After much research & deliberation I decided on the 12S. I suspected I really needed 2 subs for such a large room, and thought about a 10S, but I also knew I wanted a remote for gain and EQ control, so I went with the 12S. The single sub was ok for moderate volume but just couldn't keep up at high volumes. After a few months RSL sent a blemish 12S sale email, and I had my 2nd one.

That did the trick. The 12s"s don't shake the room with very low bass like the Velo did, but that's fine with me, too much of a good thing is bad. The 12S's have much better/tighter control at all frequencies vs the Velo, and keep up at higher volumes better. The 12S's are much better for music, and work great for me for movies. If you want the whole house to shake with super low bass in movies, you may want a larger sub, but I don't need that much "immersion" for movies. The 12s's do just fine. There's plenty of sound & shake, just not the "earthquake" really low stuff.

I like the aesthetics of the 12S's. The "plain black wrapper" says to me that RSL put their cost into best performance vs trying to be pretty, and they are successful!

The only comment for improvement is change the gain settings bar graph to numbers. With the bar graph it is difficult to see just what the setting is. I count the number of button pushes when adjusting. I find I have to "zero" and reset the gain between the two subs occasionally.

If my Boston bookshelfs give it up, I'll be going with the RSL CG23M's. I'm impressed with the value RSL provides!

Room rattling bass!!!

I’m very happy with my purchase. Great bass, had to dial it back because it was shaking the house so much. 😂 Highly recommend.

Incredible Sub!

I was searching for months for a new sub for our home theater, found RSL highly recommended. I was unsure on going with one of the 10 series or the 12… Went with the 12 and absolutely not disappointed.
I still have yet to turn it past 50% volume and it blows everyone that comes over away.

Highly recommend! Look forward to trying out the ceiling speakers in the future for atmos.

RSL was recommended to me, and I recommend them to you!

RSL speakers delivers. I’m new to the home theater world and settling on a subwoofer was a daunting task. There are a lot of choices out there. Through my research RSL kept popping up as a recommendation with rave reviews, I couldn’t be happier.
