How can a $339 sub keep up with my SVS SB3000 and SVS PB12 in musicality and in some ways slam. Let me be honest here both of these SVS subs can penetrate your body in a way that the 10E can't, but I have the 10E in a music only system near-field (6-7 ft), and prefer it over both of my way more expensive subs.
The 3000 matches the 10E in musicality, but 800/2000 min/max watts in the 3000 is unneeded power for a near field music only system in a bedroom.
The 10E is just so adept at giving me what the music needs on every song, it never mis-behaves. If I need slam, it gives me slam better than its wattage dictates, but not SB3000 slam. Its definition is precise to the point, I can hear every string on a bass guitar an differentiate each one, placement of the music it excellent. The musicality and tightness of this thing is awesome “PERIOD” forget that for the money stuff. Why would I need more with what I am using it for. It is straight out there the best at this price and it takes a lot of money outside RSL to pass it and that is only because of power. It has 800w max, and my SB3000 starts at 800w. Get 2 10Es and get very close or better than SB3000 for $600 less. It is very detailed what this sub can do and is very clear and is the master of the art of subs at this price.
Last word, I do have to say that if you are running the 10E with the stock power cord in the box then you are not taking advantage of what this sub can do. The 10E is good with the boxed power cord, but exceptional with a good after market. You can get an aftermarket power cord for $40-50 bucks from (eBay or AliExpress) and it will raise the level of this sub considerably granted you have a high-definition system, etc. By accident, I am powering it with a $1000 Shunyata Viper V2 power cord (it was laying around not being used) that turned this sub into something very unexpected.
Listen I had a hard time accepting this and was in a daze for several days until I asked AI to explain, ”By Adding the Viper (Stardust compound, shielding, etc.) on the 10E, it literally quarantined the massive amount of distortion the sub dumps back into the line, and went on to quarantine all EMI/RFI on the electrical circuit on that side of the house)”, so both OLED TVs picture improved both upstairs and downstairs and both the audio systems upstairs and downstairs improved considerably – this rarely happens, so I was one of the lucky ones.
